The five parish area boasts numerous restaurants and food service vendors that are anxious to tempt then satisfy your taste buds. A food lover must understand that the culinary cultures that exists in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jeff Davis parishes are made up of Cajun, Creole, Country Creole, Jewish, Irish, Middle Eastern, Asian, Spanish, African-American, German, Native American and Italian influences. Our foodways are the result of old and new world fusion that has lead to specialty dishes like boudin, jambalaya, sauce piquante, smothered pork steaks and rice, kibbie, stewed okra, tamales, cracklins, and the list goes on and on.
