Workforce & Economic Development
On behalf of the Southwest Louisiana Alliance Foundation and the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance, the global business community is invited to visit our region and investigate why so many major corporations have invested in our region and why so many small-to-medium businesses flourish here.
The SWLA Alliance Foundation, a division of the SWLA Economic Development Alliance, is the regional leader for business and workforce development resulting in improved quality of life for all residents in the five parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis Parishes. With the support of its stakeholders, the SWLA Alliance Foundation enhances the economic footprint of Southwest Louisiana through strong regional partnerships, workforce development, business recruitment and retention, and entrepreneurship.
The reason our region attracts global investment is due to our natural resources and excellent infrastructure. We have transportation by rail, interstate, deep and shallow water ports, including one of the largest ports in the nation, and one of the longest runways on the Gulf Coast, located close to Houston. McNeese State University, SOWELA Technical Community College and top rated public schools provide a well-educated, productive workforce, and the Foundation offers job training programs. If you would like to invest in the future of Southwest Louisiana, become a Foundation Stakeholder. Contact Morgan Turpin at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an appointment.
